A whole week for the dance that brings us together.
Line dancing is how we celebrate down here — at the reunion, the wedding, the cookout, the Friday night out. So we're giving it a week of its own: three themed nights right here at The Well, and a wide-open door for anyone who's ever wanted to find their place in the line. First time or fifty years in, this is where Canton comes to move.

You already know the feeling. The DJ drops the right song, somebody yells the name of the dance, and suddenly the whole floor is moving as one — grandmothers, teenagers, first-timers, and folks who've been dancing since before you were born. That's line dancing. It's carried celebrations across Mississippi for generations, and it's the most joyful room we've got at The Well.
Canton Line Dancing Week is our love letter to all of it. We're planting a flag this August and making it a yearly thing — three nights where the whole city is invited to dress the part, learn the steps, and keep the culture moving. Year one starts now.

Theme: break out the denim
We kick the week off learning the moves. Coach Sheretta breaks every step down from scratch — slow, patient, and beginner-proof — so a total first-timer walks out dancing. Throw on your best denim and come get in the line. No partner, no experience, no pressure.
Bring a friend. Monday is the perfect on-ramp for anybody who's been curious but nervous. Learn it now, and you'll be ready to show out by Friday's finale.

Theme: wear your brightest color
Mid-week, we turn the floor into a rainbow. Wear the loudest, brightest color you own and come move — we'll build on Monday's steps and add a few new ones, and the room lights all the way up. Bright, loud, and impossible not to smile through.
Still new? No problem at all. Every step is still taught and you go at your own pace. Wednesday's just Monday with more color and more confidence.
Theme: dressed in all white
The one to circle. We close the week right here at The Well with everybody in white, the music all the way up, light food, and every line dance you love — the whole community on one floor. This is the night people will be talking about till next August. Wear your best white; come either way, but trust us, you'll want to be in the photo.

Sheretta has taught half of Canton how to hit the floor — good music, easy-to-follow steps, and that "one more time from the top" that somehow turns into three more. She's the heartbeat of line dancing at The Well, and she's the one leading this whole week.
Come dance with her. There's no faster way to feel like a regular than one class with Sheretta calling the steps.
Denim Monday, bright colors Wednesday, all white Friday — dress the theme if you can, come either way.
Comfortable sneakers you can move in. Nothing special.
You'll glisten & glow — bring a good-sized water bottle.
Grab a friend, your mama, the whole crew. The line's better full.
Not at all. Come to one, come to all three — whatever works. Each night has its own flavor, and Friday's All-White Affair is the big finale you won't want to miss.
Nope — it's for the fun and the photos, never a rule. Denim Monday, bright colors Wednesday, all white Friday if you've got it. Show up in whatever you've got and you're just as welcome.
Every night is right here at The Well — 217 West Peace St. on the historic Canton Square. All three, same room, same family.
You'll be fine — that's what Monday is for. Coach Sheretta teaches every step from scratch and we help you one-on-one. No partner needed, either. Most of the room started exactly where you are.
Free for members, $12 for a guest drop-in. New here? The easiest way in is two weeks of unlimited classes for $25 — that covers the whole week plus everything else on the schedule. Start for $25 →
